Top 5 Welly Games!

Get the kids outdoors with our top 5 tips for fun in wellies this Spring!

1. WELLY WANGING – everyone put their wellies on and head out into the garden or a large space outdoors. Take one boot off and throw it as far as possible while standing on one leg, then hop to where it landed and the furthest throw wins.

2. JELLY WELLY RELAY – form teams of 4 children, and then fill an adult wellington boot with jelly for each team. Each team needs 2 members at each end of the garden, and when the whistle blows the first runner puts his/her foot in the jelly welly and runs to the other end, where the welly is transferred to the next player who runs back. The first relay team to finish wins.

3. JUMP THE WELLY – another game for a large group. Tie a wellington boot to the end of a 4-5 metre rope and form a large circle with one person in the centre holding the end of the rope – then start to swing it round and everyone has to jump over it. If the rope touches you, you’re out, and the last one standing is the winner!

4. PUDDLE JUMPING – there’s nothing complicated about this one – it’s exactly as it sounds, just get your wellies on and get jumping in those puddles. Great fun for toddlers.

5. GARDEN WELLIES - don’t throw your faithful old wellies away - get the kids interested in the garden by planting flowers or vegetables in them and watch them grow.
