Valerie Lambert, soap’s latest bride, will marry Eric Pollard in Emmerdale next Tuesday wearing a buttermilk taffeta wedding dress - with long johns and a pair of wellies underneath!

Recorded about a month ago on two freezing days, Charlie Hardwick who plays the Woolpack landlady reports, “Under my gorgeous specially made dress, I was wearing wellies, a lovely pair of long johns and a thick pair of socks.”

Emmerdale celebrates its 5000th episode this Friday, marking the occasion with a hilarious hour-long wedding special which can be seen next Tuesday 3rd June.
