Choosing the right size welly without having tried them on can be tricky, so we’ve compiled some information below to help you get it right first time. But if you don’t, just follow our no quibble returns procedure and we will be happy to exchange them for you.
Which foot size?
As a general guideline we normally find that the size you would wear in a normal shoe or boot is usually the correct size in a wellington as well.
Of course this is not always the case and we can’t guarantee that this will be right for everyone – but generally speaking it is a good place to start.
Bear in mind what you are going to be wearing inside your wellies. With most of the brands we sell your normal shoe size will be generous enough to allow for a thick sock, but you should also consider what trousers you are going to be wearing and whether or not you are likely to need extra room around the calf.

How to measure your calf
Wearing what you would normally want to wear inside your wellies (trousers/jeans and thick socks, for example), sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Wrap a tape measure (or piece of string that can be measured afterwards) comfortably tight around the widest part of your calf, inserting either one or two fingers between the tape and your leg.Take a note of this measurement, which will give you the ideal calf size for your wellington boots.
